WHAT IS THE 80/20 PRINCIPLE?
It is simply the principle that the top 20% (or less) produces 80% (or more) of the results - and if we apply this concept life is immensely easier but vastly more full of the results we want. Read The 80/20 Principle.

We first identify what is most impactful in your life as to what really matters, helping you learn how to discriminate more clearly, which is fairly easy. Part of the process is learning what is effective and what isn't, such as what actually produces happiness and what doesn't. We then see how it is ok, and best, to simply release the lower impact items and commit our time to what is most impactful - and how to train others to accept that. This will give you such incredible freedom and ultimately a lot more satisfaction in life. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING AN 80/20 PERSON?
Having gone through the 80/20 process, the 80/20 person:
Knows what is important, what delivers the most satisfaction and happiness and focuses on
what delivers extraordinary value, not wasting time on low payoff activities.
Lives a LIFE THAT IS SIMPLER as it is not cluttered and crammed with low value
activities or doing things to please others or to try to control them.
HAS PLENTY OF TIME and no "time management" problems
Lives at least a 200+% HAPPIER life, most likely 10-100 times happier
Is NOT STRESSED
Does what is most enjoyable and fulfilling
Does not work hard
Has considerable FREEDOM and is not run by convention or obligations

Examples of 80/20 people are Ronald Reagan (a manager of people and resources, a great persuader)and Warren Buffett (voted by peers as the best investor of last century and ranked the 2nd most wealthy), as identified by Richard Koch in his book The 80/20 Principle. They focused on the "vital few" things that made a difference and didn't let the bothersome, pressured things into their lives!
WHAT IS NECESSARY TO DO THIS:
1. IDENTIFYING WHAT IS MOST IMPACTFUL
It takes too much time to do it on your own, so this site, together with the key sister site,
does it for you. Also, using a person to assist you is highly productive.

Although you can alter the order, it saves you time to start with the master plan and use the

Learning each of the above is a top 20% activity, as they provide a greater ability to harvest the top 20% in the rest of life.
BUT ISN'T IT ALOT OF WORK?
Everything is relative. Yes, there is some time involved in learning and creating - however that time is small compared to the very large return and the massive amounts of time saved (not given away for a low return) over a lifetime. The 80/20 Person inevitably says that the time working on this is very interesting and very satisfying, as the huge payoff is easily seen. And he/she is always choosing to keeps working at something only as long as it has a higher return than other things, while, of course, enjoying life.
What else do you have to do that is a better use of your time?
The amount of time you spend will vary from a 1/2 hour a day on average to 1 hour a day, with at least one workshop a year that would be the equivalent of a week (or you can do it in smaller pieces). It is doable and it will take some time to accomplish (about 3 years if you are diligent, unless you've already mastered some pieces), but it is worth every bit. You can achieve relatively immediatehigh-impact results in the first three months. To master it fully, unless you speed up the process, will take about 3 years, but you will have saved more time than you will have spent on The Process.
The amount of time you'll save over your lifetime as a result of this will be immense. And the quality of your life will multiply many times over. Learning and growing, on purpose and systematically, dramatically increases your capacity for your enjoyment of life and relationships and personal satisfaction: ISN'T THAT WHAT LIFE IS ABOUT?
WHERE DOES ONE FOCUS ONE'S ATTENTION?
As an "80/20 Person", you will always look for what has the biggest payoff and focus on that, whatever it is.
It also means that you will not bother doing things in the lower payoff areas, as you do not have time to do something with a low payoff when you could do something with a high payoff. (Doesn't that make sense?) You commit, for the rest of your life (not as a burden but as a life enhancing, beautiful thing) to spend an average of at least 1/2 hour a day (but usually more, as you see how life becomes great) on improving your capacity, wisdom, knowledge, and abilities in life and/or thinking/creating a more enjoyable, rewarding life, on purpose, using the 80/20 Process.
One of the key things you will do is spend some time in the highest payoff activity of all activities: determining where the highest payoffs are (and then doing them). You will also look at where the lowest payoffs are and ultimately you will soon begin by eliminating 50%, at least, of what you do in life (the lowest payoff items) - as those things are not worth the time when there is so much more available in life.
You become an expert at living 80/20. After all, it is worth your very life to make your life one of immense fulfillment, enduring happiness, and great satisfaction - that's the purpose and mission in life. Of course, there are a "few" details to be learned and done, but they are all doable (not mysterious or mystical) and all worth the effort. But, remember, please, that it is appropriate for you to make a lifelong commitment to live this way. (Not quite convinced yet? Well, follow and read some of the materials and you'll gradually "get it.")
It is vital (in the top 20% of the top 20%) to determine the most effective path to one's highest functioning and enjoyment in life. We have given quite a bit of thought to this, and tied into others who have also, so we believe we can direct you down a very effective pathway, one that will be the most rewarding of anything in your life (and there is nothing to be sold or parlayed in this non-profit venture we embark on together).
As 80/20 Persons, we will be dropping further activities in the areas we engage in when we go past the 20% that is most effective. What we don't do is very important, as it gives us the time to do something else that is more impactful.
And there are a few things we keep on doing all the way to True 80/20 Mastery, because doing those things in that area keep on showing up in the upper 20%, so we continue to mine them and develop them for even greater personal life power. And, remember, we do all of this with lots of rejuvenation and personal full enjoyment time, as that is part of the top 20%.
LIVE THIS WAY OF LIFE AND YOUR LIFE WILL BE MORE THAN YOU WOULD HAVE BELIEVED POSSIBLE, WITH YOU ENJOYING THE MOMENT ALWAYS.
THE FIRST ESSENTIAL AREA FOR MASTERY
Although some people might incorrectly see this area (this part of the 80/20 Process) as another "self-improvement" or "pie in the sky" type of thing from the "land of the fruits and nuts" (California), it is, when completed properly, one of the most impactful things you will have ever done. It is not just "another" beneficial thing to do, it is the most, the absolutely most, vital area to master. Mastering this area is so vitally important, but it has acquired a reputation of being impractical and not "doable" simply because we see so many people proposing impractical methods and solutions and so many people doing some of the components in a clumsy or incomplete way. However, the 80/20 Person uses facts and logic when looking at this and does not react emotionally to his/her "misperceptions" and "misbeliefs" about this area.
The area itself is a valid one to harvest fully. However, many of the methods proposed come from non-professionals who are simply filling a need but poorly, with over-hyped marketing in order to make "big money." However, the effective methods have often been seen as ineffective, as many people have failed to do enough to get the results, quitting before completion, as they expected a "magical" result with little effort and training. All those result in ineffectiveness. We will not waste your time on 1. ineffective, non-scientific methods or 2. have you not do a complete program that will have you finish the mastery of the area.
The area is "Managing The Mind" - one of the most powerful instruments we've been given. Managing the most powerful instrument we've been given includes, as seems so obvious, learning how it works, scientifically. We will learn the vital essentials, but we will stop where the payoff in learning drops significantly, which is far below becoming brain scientists.
We will use the pre-screened, effective methods of managing one's mind for life effectiveness and enduring happiness. It will require you to "re-train" and spend some time correcting and over-writing the less effective habits of the mind. These methods are proven scientifically to work and many of them are from the "masters of thought" through the ages, just converted to our way of thinking and living in today's world. It is, we believe, indisputable that one should not let one's "Monkey Mind" or "Lizard Brain" run one's life to any sizable degree. One of the problems is that many powerful people do not realize that this is the case, as they are so effective in certain areas but often missing the point of life - enduring happiness (through effectiveness in the keys areas supporting this).
Without one's mind supporting one's life in a functional way, one cannot harvest life in the most effective way. We will have you complete the 20% that is the most effective in this area. Yes, it will take some time, but not nearly as much as some people take, and it will be much more effective than what most people do.

OUR BEST GUIDE TO SUCCESS
Success does leave clues. But few people catch onto them, replacing them instead with hope and avoidance of effort. It is enormously easier to discriminate as to what works than it is to reinvent the wheel. To not follow the paths that have already been laid is the height of ignorance and a total waste of one's life. People should stop that! It doesn't work!
Ironically, I see even "life coaches" doing this, as if something is more valuable if they invent it themselves. Pride, ego, resistance, ignorance - all play a part in people wasting the great potential of their lives!
Consequently, we will invest time in clarifying those characteristics of people who are thriving in personal terms and/or in the specified area. And, in the process, we will innovate new solutions, using some of the processes herein.
Then we will invest time in clarifying what they are doing and what their "practices", habits and ways of thinking are.
Then we will adopt them!
While most people stop when they've arrived at certain levels above their discomfort levels. The objective of an 80/20 Person is to increase useful capabilities to a higher and higher level, not to "fix oneself" in any way but to increase one's effectiveness in life more and more, such that the enjoyment of it is greater and greater and greater as one progresses through life (not waiting until later)... and always fulfilling and satisfying and enduringly happy.
It's ironic how much simpler and enjoyable life can be when you are an accomplished 80/20 Person, who has "destroyed" the complexity and convolution of life and what doesn't work.
